We, NT Service GmbH, would like to tell you about our recently completed project for silo cleaning / bunker cleaning, silo emptying and repair of several foundry sand silos.
As part of the project, we cleaned, emptied and repaired a total of 4 foundry sand silos manually, dry and by mining means. To do this, we used state-of-the-art rope access technology to enable us to reach even hard-to-access areas without any problems.

Of course, the safety of our employees and your systems was always our top priority.
We started by cleaning the silos. We used special cleaning techniques and pneumatic tools to remove all deposits and impurities in the silos. We made sure that the cleaning techniques did not impair the positive material properties of the foundry sand.
We then emptied the silos, using different emptying techniques to ensure gentle emptying and to prevent damage to the inner walls of the silos.
Once the cleaning and emptying work was complete, we also repaired the foundry sand silos. This involved repairing minor damage and cracks in the walls and floor of the silos in order to restore the functionality of the systems.

When it comes to occupational safety, we place the highest demands on the safety of our employees and your systems during silo cleaning / bunker cleaning and maintenance. We use state-of-the-art rope access technology to reach even hard-to-access areas. We ensure that our employees are always appropriately equipped and trained to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations.
To ensure the quality of our work, we also attach great importance to the qualifications of our employees. Our rope access technicians have extensive training and many years of experience in the field of silo cleaning and maintenance. They also undergo regular training to keep them up to date with the latest technology and safety requirements.

In the past, it was common practice for plant operators to use their own personnel, who were insufficiently qualified, to clean and maintain silos and similar facilities. This often led to dangerous situations and accidents, as the employees did not have the necessary expertise and skills to work safely in such facilities.
Nowadays, this situation has changed fundamentally. Specialized companies such as NT Service GmbH take care of silo cleaning and maintenance, using qualified and experienced personnel. This allows plant operators to concentrate on their actual area of responsibility and rely on the fact that the work on the plants is carried out by specialists. Originally, work was also planned using blasting technology. However, we decided against this method due to the positive material properties and the low clumping of the foundry sand.

Silo cleaning is an important part of the regular maintenance of systems in various branches of industry. Depending on the type of bulk material and the system, different methods and techniques can be used.
Silo cleaning of gypsum silos, for example, requires a special approach, as gypsum is a very fine-grained material that can quickly clump together. Here, NT Service GmbH relies on gentle cleaning methods to prevent damage to the silo walls.

Sand silos and gravel and grit silo systems also require careful cleaning to ensure that the system functions properly. Various methods can also be used here, such as manual cleaning or cleaning with special cleaning machines.
NT Service GmbH has many years of experience in silo cleaning and maintenance for a wide range of systems and uses the right cleaning techniques for every system and every bulk material. Our qualified employees ensure that your systems are always in perfect condition and guarantee safe operation.
Silo cleaning involves not only removing the bulk material from the silo, but also cleaning the silo walls and ceilings. Special cleaning machines are used here, which work with water, compressed air and cleaning agents. The bulk material is loosened from the silo and vacuumed off, while at the same time the silo walls and tops are freed from contamination.
For particularly stubborn contamination or incrustations, blasting technology can also be used, in which the material is removed from the silo walls using compressed air or a water jet. Special covers and collecting devices are used to protect the surrounding area from dust and dirt.
Repair work is also carried out on the silo walls and ceilings to maintain the silos. This includes welding work, the application of protective coatings or the replacement of seals. Checking and maintaining the ventilation and exhaust air systems is also part of the regular maintenance of silo systems.
